When considering tools, we normally have something we can use as a measurement. We know for instance that a star headed screw will require a Philips screwdriver, or a 13mm spanner will fit a 13mm nut; but when it comes to Personal Safety Equipment, there is not a “standard” and there is no shifting spanner either.
Personal Safety Equipment can be tricky. Firstly, because it is “personal”.
Secondly, it can get out of hand when your workforce “all” want what your welder or bus driver has.
So, unless you want to provide your employees with a winter wardrobe, you first need to establish why you need to buy Personal Safety Equipment.
